In 1850 Fredrick Church did a painting named "Otter Creek, Mt. Desert". This is my homage to him. Green and Dry Mountains (now Cadillac and Dorr) are still there but are now covered with trees. Closer up the open fields have also been taken over by forest. Instead of a waterman carrying and boom and sail to a beached boat there is now a Rugosa Rose in the foreground.
